Ripple
Many students install a blocker before exams and switch it off a few days later. Ripple makes switching it off slow. Loosening a rule takes 15 minutes, the unlock code can live with someone else, and uninstalling or force stopping is blocked. This page covers a practical setup for exam season.
Digital Wellbeing and most blockers can be dismissed with one tap or a password you set yourself. After a long study block that tap is easy. Block only the YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels screens. Regular YouTube stays open. See blocking Shorts only.

Run a 90 minute focus timer with only calls, messaging and study apps allowed.
Turn on the wireless debugging guard. See the keep alive guide.

On Android 11 and later, turning on the on-device wireless debugging guard locks the uninstall button and brings Ripple back about 2.5 seconds after it is swiped away or force stopped. No computer or root is needed.
Yes. Set the rules on the student's phone and keep the unlock code yourself. Chat apps can stay open while only Shorts, Reels or WeChat Channels are blocked.
